Delivering a series of videos to support Key Styles on Foot Locker social channels.
Highlighting a suite of staple silhouettes from the brand and ensuring consistent touchpoints with consumers throughout the year.
Our friends at Puma recently asked us to create a series of “always on” video content heroing their key styles. The goal was to provide a year long calendar of content, ensuring consistent support and keeping key silhouettes top of mind.
The brief was relatively straightforward, giving us loads of freedom and trust to work our magic!
Based on these parameters, we moved forwards with three distinct themes, which followed a few key requirements. We wanted to shoot all content a consistent environment with elements, such as the colour changing between the stories to allow an element of consistency whilst also showing a unique visual identity between the shoes.
A key element we wanted to explore throughout the videos was the use of colour. By incorporating carefully curated colour palettes, we tailored each setup to seamlessly complement the shoes within the frame, achieving this through lighting, backdrops, basic props, and styling, which allowed us to mould each scene to perfectly highlight the unique characteristics of each shoe.
Theme 1: Clean and Bold
Concept one centred around a bold, minimalist aesthetic that emphasised clean aesthetics. The visual style was crisp and uncluttered, using carefully selected props and stylized color palettes to create a cohesive and striking look. Each element within the frame should be meticulously arranged to enhance the shoes’ design, ensuring that the overall composition felt both sophisticated and impactful
Theme 2: Silhouettes
Using silhouettes and spotlights to create an air of mystery, refinement, and elevation. This darker setup emphasised the iconic silhouettes of each shoe, using dramatic spotlighting and bold lighting techniques to create striking visual contrasts. The approach highlighted the contours and textures of the footwear, presenting each shoe in a distinctive and unforgettable unforgettable way while dropped shutter effect created an additional way to highlight the hero product and elevated it against the background.
Theme 3: Y2K / Digital
The final setup embraced a Y2K aesthetic, incorporating a mixed media VHS style. The scene was shot with both an A Cam and an old camcorder, capturing the nostalgic feel of early 2000s visuals. Displaying the camcorder footage on a retro TV screen within the setup, we showcased shots of the shoes through this retro lens.
